The Clap and Tap Federation is a membership-based organization that advocates for clap and tap music in the world. ​It acknowledges the significant role that music and culture play in the political and societal development of peaceful and integrative countries. Therefore, it advocates on local, provincial and national levels for an appropriate framework, respecting equal rights and opportunities for music, music professionals and access to music.

The Clap and Tap Federation serves its members by advocating for the societal and political significance of musical diversity in South Africa and globally, hence, plays a key role in supporting the African communities that want to celebrate their music.

It provides exceptional value to its membership by building knowledge; creating networking opportunities; supporting and enhancing the visibility of projects that help sustain people's participation in music and cultural life.

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. The Clap and Tap Federation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
